All of my designs start as a simple sketch in a sketchbook and are built up from there. Every design is loving crafted by me, drawn by my hand, and built or finished using either the Adobe Creative Suite or Procreate, or sometimes, both.

I’m Kayla. The creative mind, and one-woman show, behind Thistle Mouse Designs. I am an artist and surface pattern designer living at the base of the Wasatch Mountain Range in Utah. My studio is also my kitchen table, but in the famous words of Tim Gunn, I “make it work.” I firmly believe there is enough in this life that is serious, stately, and routine. The world needs more cuteness, softness, fun, and a little whimsy. That is exactly what I try to add to the world through my illustration and design work.
